Find a Mentor

Something like 7 out of 10 students want to become an entrepreneur and run their own business some day. That’s great. But the chances of all 7 students making it big are slimmer than Anna Nicole Smith’s new waist size.

To increase your chances of really making it in the business world, you may want to seek out a mentor – someone who has made it big and has all the knowledge and experience just waiting share with you.

Learning from someone’s successes and failures can really help guide you as you grow your business. You’ll find that a good mentor never gets tired of sharing his or her insights with you, educating you as you continue to take another step up the ladder of success.

A mentor can even be a professor from your university that has taken a liking to your business and ideas. Having a professor as a mentor can be a great asset to you (because that’s what teachers do, teach). So why not spend a few minutes after class and talk to your professor about your business, I did it all the time in college and it paid off with a handful of vital information and lifelong contacts.

Post a comment and tell us about your mentor and how you found each other.
