David’s Black Book (entry 2)

Remarkable. A little over a week ago I decided to go to a church yard sale upon the recommendation of my mother. I spent exactly $4 on a few boxes of old books and within that same week I turned those 4 dollars into $70 by selling the books in packages on ebay. What did I learn from this? There will always be situations in life to create financial gains if that is what you desire. You just have to look for them, because they won’t be looking for you. The questions one should always ask are: ‘how can I get what I want? How can I make some money today? How can or what can I think of to create some passive income?’ Instead of the common phrase: ‘one day I’ll have it (something you want) when I can afford it.’ It is time we take control of our finances; it’s time that we control our own sources of income and stop only depending on our ‘jobs.’

I was inspired to write this entry after making some money from selling books on ebay – boy was I happy! It felt really good that day to turn a measly $4 into $70 – what is that, like a 1600% capital gain, not bad for 15 minutes of work.

During around the time of this entry, I was always looking for stuff to sell on ebay to make some extra cash. I mostly sold old books from around the house and even some leather coats that my dad no longer wanted.

I just had this mentality that there is always an opportunity to make money someway or somehow, as long as I really, really thought about it.

What are some ways that you have made some extra cash?
