David’s Black Book (entry 3)

I hate Mondays. I have two 2 hour classes in the morning and one 3 hour class at night. The only thing that gets me through my classes nowadays is the incessant thinking of my business and my future success as an entrepreneur…

Over the past few months my mind has been invariably fixed on making it in the business world. I think about it in the morning, afternoon, and at night before I go to sleep. I feel that it’s good that I continue to mentally focus on what I want in life. It’s like my mind is a magnet and everyday the charge is getting stronger and stronger. This will help me materialize my goals much faster…

I hate poetry class. Grr… Right now I’m thinking about how I can put together a mastermind group for my company. I’ll probably need a few students to help me spread the word about my company to all the major colleges in New York City…

I wrote this diary entry during the time before I launched cashcampus.com, which at the time was a site that allowed students to sell and share research information. During the semester before the launch, my mind was pretty occupied and it was hard to stay focused in class. I was just so excited, you know?

At the time, I was trying to build a team of fellow college students to help me out with my site, mostly to promote it around the surrounding colleges in the city. I was having a hard time finding the right students who would want to be part of a startup such as mine – no one really took it as seriously as I did.

I was planning on using NYC as a testing ground for my service. I knew that if it took off there, then it would probably have a chance in the rest of the country. I spent days mapping out the exact dorm locations on NYC, Columbia, Pace, etc…

I stayed strong and continued to focus on my goals everyday, even though I was taking 18 credits a semester and had a massive amount of school work to juggle along with getting ready to launch my first site. What a semester!
