Mind Workout
What helps you be creative? What unlocks your imagination? What opens your mind wide open? For many people its things like: smoking pot (or drug of choice), playing music, or simply just talking to people who ooze creativity.
As an entrepreneur it is vital to stay on top of your creativity game. Whatever it is that you do to open your mind up on a daily basis — you need to keep on doing it to keep the ideas, concepts, and brilliant solutions flowing.
If it’s music that gets your mind rolling, then throw on a few on your favorite songs, get a pen and paper or whiteboard, and just flow with yourself. Close your eyes and zone out; let the ideas come to you, never force them.
Now I’m a drug-free type of dude, but if smoking pot opens your mind up, then grab yourself some papers, bongs, bowls, whatever and light the hell up. I’m not going to sit here and be ignorant to the fact that pot does in fact help some people be more creative. In fact, drugs have been used as a promoter of creativity for thousands of years.
One of the best ways to unleash your creativity is to completely surround yourself with creative, smart, innovative, and savvy people. The importance of this type of socializing can’t be stressed enough. You really need to immerse yourself with people who think about original things…get away from all of the people who constantly regurgitate information instead of bringing novel ideas to the table.
I like to think of the mind as a muscle – you need to work it out in order for it to grow and expand. So work that baby! Make it a goal to work your brain on a daily basis by allotting time to really think, brainstorm, and unlock the hidden information within.

I probably shouldn’t admit this…but sometimes I do my best thinking after a few beers. Sometimes I get so stressed I need something to break up the dam.
I wrote my two best college papers in record time when I was quite buzzed…however I would never make it a habit.
